Nike X Baller League x Rukkas FC
Back in September 2025, I was approached by Ben Russell from (Nike EMEA) to be a freelance design consultant in creating the kit designs and artworks for the indoor football tournament,
Baller League.
What is Baller League?
Baller League is a 6 – a – side tournament that consists of content creators, ex-premier league players as team managers.
It’s 6 – a – side tournament with a difference.
These are entitled gamechangers, such as Onside where the off-side rules don’t apply and 1v1. For more information, check out Baller League.uk
Print Development
All the printed kits are produced by digital sublimation.
There are 2 types of sublimation techniques used.
1 . Paper transfer
2. DTF (Direct to Film) Transfer
Rukkas FC
One of the kits that required a re-design is the new team for season 3, was Rukkas FC owned and managed by
Idris Elba and Dean Forbes.
Rukkas FC - Before..
The original design submitted by Rukkas is based upon the colours of the Pan-African flag. Unfortunately, this graphic was impractical for the following reasons;
1. As the garment was pre-manufactured in black, an alternative print process (DTF - Direct to Film - Transfer) was required to achieve the desired result.
2. Due to the large coverage of print and shapes, a design revision was needed.
Rukkas FC - The Design Solution
To create the design solution is to break-up the shapes into fragments but still retain the look and feel of the original design.
Rukkas FC - Final Design
The final design was approved by all the stakeholders involved such as Baller League, Nike and Baller League
